Willaby Wallaby Woo

Happy Thursday! Today we continued to talk about our names. Our story was From Anne to Zach. The story went through the entire alphabet. We got very excited when we found the letter for each of our names in the book!

Then we spent some time learning about the sound of the first letter in our names. We got to see our pictures projected on the SMART Board and learned a song to the tune of "Where is Thumbkin?" that helped us learn the sounds of some letters. The song was called "What's Your Sound?"

We also learned the song "Willaby Wallaby Woo" and had fun with our "silly names." Each child had his/her picture projected on the SMART Board with an elephant on their head. Miss McCabe covered each child's picture and the children had to listen carefully to the song to figure out whose picture was hidden before we revealed it. There was a lot of laughter! :)

Next we visited the final center for the week. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.

The first center used watercolor paints to make magical nighttime names and went on a name hunt around the classroom.

The second center made a name Nn alphabet book page and also sorted letters by whether or not they belong in their name.

The third center played the name game, where they had to try to collect all the letters in their name.

We are having a great time building with blocks and pretending to be construction workers at playtime. The playdough and writing center have also been in high demand.

After snack, we spent some time sharing our turkey family projects. There were some great disguises. We will hang them up so you can take a look at all the creative ideas when you come to school for parent/teacher conferences next week!

Please note that on Monday, we will be doing vision and hearing screening at school. If any vision or hearing concerns come up, we will make sure you are contacted.

Have a fantastic weekend!
