This week all of our activities will focus around Easter! We started out our day by reading the book, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick. The children loved hearing this story about an old lady who ate all sorts of silly things. After reading the story, each of the children received cards with all of the items that the old lady ate. They cut the cards apart and colored them. Each child also received an old lady. The old lady's stomach was a bag, which is where they will store all of the cards that they color. These will become the props to retelling the story There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick. Once each child finished making their storytelling props, they retold the story to one of their classmates. Ask your child to retell the story to you at home!
Next it was playtime! Some of the children made their bunny Easter baskets. There were also a few children who enjoyed spending time painting Easter egg pictures!
The morning class celebrated Ryker's birthday! Thank you for the treat! Happy Birthday!
During closing circle, the children danced with egg shakers!
They also created their Ee alphabet book page. They started by gluing eggs to their Ee's and then finished by gluing some Easter grass on the bottom of their Ee's.
Reminder: Please continue to send snow pants with your child daily because there is still snow on the ground. :(
Have a lovely evening!
