Today we read the story, The Little Red Hen.
After reading the story of The Little Red Hen, the children got to make their own headband so that they could retell the story. Each child chose his/her favorite character from the story and made a headband of that animal to help retell the story. The children enjoyed retelling the story! Ask your child if he/she can tell the story to you tonight.
The morning class also had time to sing "Take a Feather" again today.
Playtime Fun! The children had fun getting some of their wiggles out and socializing with their friends. Some of the children painted a chicken using a feather. There were also many children that enjoyed using the listening center. They listened to the story Old MacDonald Had a Dragon.
In the afternoon, we celebrated a summer birthday for Vince. Happy summer birthday, Vince! Thank you for the special treat!
After snack, the children played outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather on the big playground!
We also did the counting jar. In the morning we guessed the number of puzzle pieces and in the afternoon we guessed the number of fruit snacks.
In the morning, we also peeked inside our chrysalis' and were excited to discover that our caterpillars turned into butterflies!
Reminder: Tomorrow is our field trip "The Farm." Please remember that the morning children must eat breakfast before coming to school. Also please remember that the afternoon children need to bring a bag lunch. Please make sure to put sunscreen on your child! It looks like it's going to be a warm one! :)
