Big Fat Hen

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather over our long weekend!

At arrival, we got to cut out our muddy pigs today! They smelled delicious!

We started out circle time by singing one of our favorite songs - "Take a Feather." The children love the ending where they get to blow the feather in the air and catch it!

Today we spent some time talking about chickens. We reviewed the nursery rhyme "1, 2, Buckle My Shoe" and read some stories that were similar to the nursery rhyme. We compared the stories to the nursery rhyme to find similarities and differences.

Then we made our own version of the nursery rhyme "1, 2, Buckle My Shoe." On each page in the booklet, the children had to write the numbers and draw the corresponding number of chicks. Then they added details to each page, such as a door and sticks. Have your child read you his/her story at home tonight!

Of course, we also spent some time playing and working on those important social skills.

In the afternoon, we celebrated a summer birthday for Isaac S. Happy summer birthday, Isaac! Thank you for the special treats!

In the morning session, Elise's mom came in and did another Spanish lesson on foods. We got to make burritos to eat for snack! Yum!

Today we also did the counting jar.

In the afternoon, we also peeked inside our chrysalis' and were excited to discover that our caterpillars turned into butterflies!

We even got to play on the "big kid" playground again today!

Have a great evening! :)
