Today we read the story Five Little Pumpkins. After we read our story, we acted it out. Everyone got a chance to be a pumpkin. We talked about some vocabulary that may have been new to some students, such as the words first, second, third, fourth, and fifth. We learned that first means number one in line, second means number two in line, and so forth. Our friends had so much fun pretending to be the pumpkins! Each child was also given a pumpkin with a number on it. The children had to determine what number was on their pumpkin!
Today we had a large group activity rather than having centers. The children made a picture of the five little pumpkin sitting on a gate. There were many different steps to making this picture compete. They had to use their listening ears so that they could follow all of the directions that they were given. Ask your child to tell you about the poem at home!
We enjoyed playtime today! Our dramatic play center was big hit today. The children enjoyed playing in our pizza parlor!
We celebrated a birthday in the morning and in the afternoon session. Happy Birthday to the two of you!
During closing circle, we had our letter Pp mystery bag show and tell. The children this week gave clues so that we could figure out what was in their bag. We found many items that start with the letter Pp. Some of the items that our friends shared were a picture, a pen, a penny, a pan, a pencil, a paper, a pumpkin, and a picture of a pig.
Tomorrow is an Early Release day and we will not be having 4K.
We also have silly sock day on Monday! Please send your child in silly socks. Please don't go out and buy silly socks. If your child does not have silly socks, they can wear mismatched socks!
Enjoy the long weekend! Stay warm!
