Happy Wednesday 4K Families!
Today we read the story Snowballs. Throughout this book, there are different types of snow people and animals that are built. Some of them were snow moms and snow dads, while others were snow cats and snow dogs. Today your child was given some homework . . . they have the job of creating their own snow person, animal, character . . . whatever they choose. Please check your child's folder for more information about this project. Our hope is that the story helped spark some great ideas for the children! We are looking forward to seeing everyone's creative snowmen!
Our friends also played a game called "What’s Missing Snowman." The children had to identify which parts of the snowmen were missing. They always enjoy seeing if they can find what's missing! While playing this game, we learned some new vocabulary, such as the word "tassel." Below are a few examples. See if you can figure out what is missing!

Our silly elf visited us again today. The children couldn't wait to find out where he was. They found him on Miss McCabe's desk taking a bubble bath! :)
We visited another center today. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.
At the first center, the children played a snowman concepts game. The children took turns choosing a card that had them either identify a concept or
complete a silly winter task. They got so excited when their friends got a silly card!
The children at the second center made their Igloo Ii Alphabet Booklet Page. They then cut out rectangles to glue on the letter Ii. Then they got to use white glitter paint to make it sparkly like snow. After they finished their Ii page, they got to make a snowman.
At the third center, the children made shape snow scenes. Each child tore white paper to make a snow-covered ground. They then cut out three rectangles and triangles to glue onto the paper
to form trees. Finally, each child dipped the end of a pencil into white
paint to create snowflakes on his/her paper. While we made this snow scene, we talked about the differences between a triangle and a rectangle.
At the last center, the children got to use some holiday stamps using different colored ink pads. They also played a snowball number toss game. They tried to throw a ball/beanbag through different holes. Each hole was numbered and the children used a recording sheet to record which numbered hole their snowball went through. They enjoyed playing this active learning game.
