Then we spent some time playing. The children were very worried because they could not find our elf anywhere in the classroom! Shouts of "Jingle! Jingle!" could be heard throughout the classroom while the children searched for their special friend to see where he was hiding today. We were very worried about him!
Our story today was The Gingerbread Cowboy. We compared the story to other gingerbread stories we had read throughout the week. In the morning, we also found some extra time to read Gingerbread Pirates.
Then we graphed which gingerbread story was our favorite. The overall favorite in both sessions was The Gingerbread Girl.
Finally, we came to the part of the day that we were all waiting for - frosting and decorating our gingerbread cookies for snack! We gathered around the oven and put out our arms just in case they decided to jump out at us. Then we counted to three and opened the oven doors. However when we opened the oven, there were not any gingerbread! We were left with just a note.
The note led us on a search throughout the school. We visited several different classrooms in search of our cookies for snack. On our search, we discovered crumbs, footprints, candy, and all sorts of clues!
Eventually we found our elf hiding in the sensory table. He had caught our gingerbread men and they were busy building a house. Of course, our elf could not resist tasty gingerbread and had a few bites, leaving some crumbs behind! A note was left asking us not to eat the gingerbread men and to let them live in the sensory table.
The children decided that they wanted to eat them so we headed to the tables and began to decorate our cookies before eating them. Yum!

Please make sure that items are labeled with your child's name so that we can ensure you receive your 2 tickets! Today some items were dropped off in the office. If you were the one that dropped them off, please contact me letting me know what the items were so I can make sure to get you your complimentary tickets.
