Today we read the story There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose. The children thought this story was very silly and there were many giggles throughout it!
We had centers once again today. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.
At the first center, the children created a song booklet by gluing the correct items on each page. This booklet will be sent home with your child.
The children at the second center played a heart counting game using playdough. Each child drew a number and counted out the corresponding number of playdough hearts. Then a friend counted the hearts and tried to guess the "mystery number."
At the third center, the children created a Valentine bear card for someone special. Each child cut out a bear shape and glued a heart on the tummy and paws. Then they glued on a note and signed it.
During playtime, we had a few more children hand out their valentines. They children are getting so excited for our Valentine's Day party! The Queen of Hearts Valentine Shop was a big hit again today. There were lots of children creating valentines for their friends.
During closing circle we played a heart rhyming memory game. The children were very good listeners and could tell when the two pictures rhymed!
The morning children did the counting jar today. They also read the story Big Shark's Valentine Surprise!
Thank you to everyone who has sent in their valentine cards early! It is extremely helpful to pass them out in advance as our party day will be busy! If you have not sent in your cards yet and have them completed, please send them in tomorrow. It takes a lot of time to pass out the cards and we do not want to take away from our special party day to pass out a lot of cards! Thank you for your help!
Have a great night! :)
