The morning session students were invited to attend a special dress rehearsal of the 5th grade musical. We were excited to get to go to the auditorium and be an audience for the "big kids." Before going, we talked about how special we felt when we got to be on stage and sing for our families at our holiday program. We talked about what a good audience member does. The 4K students LOVED watching the "big kids" and were GREAT audience members! Way to go, 4K students!
In the afternoon, we read the story Big Shark's Valentine Surprise. The morning session read this story earlier in the week.
Then the afternoon session made their own special heart fish just like the morning session did yesterday!
We also enjoyed playing with our friends.
Then we had our special valentine party. We decorated heart cookies and then ate them for snack. Yum! Thank you to everyone who contributed to our special party!
We even found some time to play a valentine game called "Valentine Land." We had to pass a heart around and when the music stopped, the person who was holding the heart got to dance in the middle. It was a lot of fun and the children were sad when it was time to stop.
Afterwards, we got to open up our valentines from our friends. The room was filled with love during this time. The children practiced using their manners, such as "thank you" and "I like this valentine a lot." There were also a lot of hugs!
I hope you have a great Valentine's Day! :)
