Snowy Polar Bears

Happy Tuesday! Today we continued to learn about polar bears. After reviewing what we learned about polar bears yesterday, we read another special story about polar bears to help us learn even more! This story was a non-fiction story. We learned that non-fiction means it is a real story. There were even real photographs in the book!

In the morning, we also reviewed the song "Polar" that we learned yesterday while in the afternoon we read a short story about the letter Jj as a review from yesterday.

Then we visited centers.

The first center did some fishing and caught fish to feed to their polar bears. This center worked on letter identification and hearing beginning sounds.

The second center did a polar bear number race game.

The third center played a polar bear iceberg board game that reviewed numbers and letters.

The fourth center reviewed the word "camouflage" that was introduced yesterday. They used their big muscles to tear paper to hide their polar bear cubs from the ice foxes!

Then we spent some time playing. The snow in the sensory table, as well as the bear cave were popular choices today.

After snack, we boiled some water and made jello jigglers. They are in the refrigerator to get cold. On Thursday, we will cut out letter Jj's from the jello jigglers to eat for snack. This was a fun way to reinforce our learning of the letter Jj!

We also did the counting jar. Everyone is getting to be great at rote counting! Our guesses are beginning to make more sense as we further develop our number sense!

Tomorrow is sure to be another fun day as there is another special cooking project planned! I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
