Wonderful Wednesday!

We had another great day at school today! We read the story, The Scrubbly-Bubbly Car Wash.  Everyday we review what a circle is, since that is out focus shape this month. Today each child got a shape and had to determine if it was a circle or not.

Day 3 of centers started today!  Ask your child which center he/she visited!

At our first center, we got to work on our fine motor skills by cutting out a red, yellow, and green circle.  We glued them on a black rectangle in the correct order.  Finally, each child got to cut out and watercolor paint a stop sign.  When we painted the words “STOP” magically appeared.

The children at the second center got to read the book Bears on Wheels.  Then each child stamped the correct number of wheels on each page in his/her booklet using thread spools dipped in black ink.  Ask your child to read his/her book to you!

At the third center, students worked on coloring their book check-out envelope.  Every child will have the opportunity to check out books from our classroom. They will get to use these special envelopes to bring their books the home to you!

At our last center, the children colored his/her “Mary Had a Little Lamb” page.  They also got to play some fun activities with this nursery rhyme.  They had to listen to sets of words and determine if they are the same or different , such as the words "Mary" and "Mary" or "lamb" and "day."  They also read the story and inserted a child's name in the rhyme.  They really enjoyed this silly activity!

We had lots of fun playing at all of the different play areas.

We got to share more of our "About Me" projects today! The students had so much fun sharing their favorite things with their new friends! They loved being in the spotlight!

Reminder: Scholastic Book Orders are due tomorrow! :)

Looking forward to more fun tomorrow!
