Race Cars

Happy Thursday! Today our stories were all about race cars!  We read The Wheels on the Race Car, which was similar to the song, "The Wheels on the Bus."

We sang a counting song called, "One Little Race Car." See if your child can sing it for you tonight!  It is to the tune of "Ten Little Indians." We practiced the song using our fingers! It goes:

One little, two little, three little race cars.
Four little, five little, six little race cars.
Seven little, eight little, nine little race cars.
Ten little race cars racing!

Ten little, nine little, eight little race cars.
Seven little, six little, five little race cars.
Four little, three little, two little race cars.
One little race car winning!

We have also been reviewing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and doing calendar daily.

In the morning, we also sang the alphabet song and worked on identifying the first letter in our names.

Today we visited our final center - either making traffic lights and stop signs, making a wheel counting book, coloring a book check-out envelope, or completing some activities to go with "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Ask your child which center he/she visited today!

Then we spent some time playing.

We also worked on finishing our shape mats.  They should be coming home in the near future!

We had two birthday celebrations in the morning session!  Thank you for the special treats!  Happy Birthday!

In the afternoon, we finished sharing the rest of our "About Me" projects.

In the morning session, we read The Berenstain Bears and the Big Road Race. This was a great book to review colors!  Ask your child which color car won the race!

Then we spent some time in the gym.  The morning session voted to play a color game in the gym instead of "Red Light, Green Light."  The afternoon session chose to play "Red Light, Green Light" in the gym.

Have a fantastic weekend! :)
