Garden Planting

Hello 4K Families,

Today the children wrote a letter to their kindergarten teacher. This letter will give their teacher information about how he/she writes and colors. It will also give the kindergarten teachers a little bit of insight about each of the children.

Today we also got to plant in the school garden. The morning students planted onions and the afternoon children planted marigold flowers. The children enjoyed planting!

We read the story Detective Blue. This was a story that incorporated many nursery rhymes within it. The children were excited to be able to identify certain nursery rhymes in the story. We talked about how a detective's job is to use clues to solve a problem. The problem in the this story was that Miss Muffet from "Little Miss Muffet" was not sitting on her tuffet and she was missing. Detective Blue is the boy from the nursery rhyme of "Little Boy Blue" and after talking to several nursery rhyme characters, he was able to solve the mystery.

We also sang a few of the children's favorite songs from throughout the year.

The children enjoyed a snack outside today. During snack, we listened to the story Barnyard Boogie.

After snack, we played on the big playground for a little while, which they were very excited about!

Reminder: Please send a beach towel with your child tomorrow. Please also remember to put sunscreen on your child, as he/she will be outside for the majority of their day at school. Please note that children should not wear swimsuits tomorrow. However, the children are allowed to wear sandals or flip flops for tomorrow only (so we don't have wet socks)!

We are looking forward to a fun and memorable last day of 4K tomorrow! :)
