Funny Farm

Happy Monday, 4K Families,

Today the listened to the story Down on the Funny Farm. The children thought that this was a very silly story and there were many giggles while we were listening to it.

After listening to the story, the children made their own funny farm booklets. Each child created his/her own funny farm animal by using different parts from farm animals. Then they had to name the animal, tell what it looks like, how it moves, and what it eats. They had lots of fun completing this silly booklet. Please ask your child to share his/her booklet with you tonight at home!

Then we had playtime. The morning children loved to help clean the room. They were very good cleaners! The afternoon children got to the opportunity to play in Miss Mader's classroom where her morning class plays. They were excited to play with all of these new toys!

In the morning, we celebrated Elise's summer birthday and in the afternoon we celebrated Michael's birthday. Happy Birthday to you both! Thank you for the special treats!

Then we did the counting jar.

We read the book Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash. This is a story about a silly lady who hangs very strange things on her clothesline. The children were excited to hear so many rhymes in the story!

The morning class did a "Farmer What's Missing" activity.

We ended our day by singing some of the children's favorite songs of the year! The morning class even compiled a list of their favorite songs, which we will try to revisit again tomorrow. They also sang a different version of "Old MacDonald," which was called "On My Farm."

Have a great evening!
